AC switch disconnectors provide safe switching, isolation and disconnection of electrical circuits. They are used as main, maintenance or safety switches in machines, systems, distribution boards and industrial installations.
The plica range includes compact plastic versions from 16 A, 3P+N variants, emergency versions and high-performance switch disconnectors up to 1600 A.
Depending on the variant, compact TP versions are protected against dust, water and intensive cleaning.
The impact-resistant plastic enclosure is designed for demanding industrial environments.
The handle can be secured in the OFF position with up to three padlocks.
Depending on the version, the TP Series is designed for rated voltages up to 690 V.
The compact TP Series combines robust protection with installer-friendly enclosure details.
The short plica video shows the important features of a robust switch disconnector for emergency and maintenance switching.
Open video on YouTubeAC switch disconnectors are used in alternating-current applications where circuits must be switched or reliably isolated for maintenance. Typical applications include machinery, production systems, distribution boards and industrial installations.
The plica range extends from compact versions starting at 16 A to high-performance switch disconnectors up to 1600 A. Depending on the switching task, multipole and 3P+N variants are available.
Depending on the variant, compact TP versions provide IP66/IP69 and IK09. The recessed rotary handle clearly indicates the switching position. General versions may be lockable in OFF and ON depending on the model. Emergency versions can be secured in OFF with up to three padlocks.
A generous wiring space simplifies connection. The reversible base, drilling marks and break-through cable entries support flexible and service-friendly wall mounting.
Depending on the version, the TP Series is designed according to EN IEC 60947-3 and EN IEC 60947-1. Rated current, utilisation category, pole configuration, conductor size, protection rating and short-circuit performance must be checked in the relevant product data sheet.
The correct switch is not selected by rated current alone. The application, environment and safety concept also need to be considered.
Select AC for alternating current. Use a suitable DC switch disconnector for photovoltaic and other direct-current applications.
Match rated current, utilisation category and motor power to the actual load.
Select the appropriate multipole or 3P+N version for the installation.
Match IP protection and impact resistance to dust, water, cleaning and mechanical stress.
Clearly distinguish between general switching, maintenance switching and emergency applications.
Consider the number of padlocks and lockable switching positions in the safety concept.
This page presents switch disconnectors for alternating-current applications. A dedicated DC switch disconnector must be used for direct-current applications, particularly photovoltaic systems.
Note: protection rating, impact resistance, voltage range and locking functions depend on the series and version. The relevant product data sheet is authoritative.
